Website access - The problems.

It would be wrong to ignore them. We have had access issues to the member’s area of the site. This seems to have been due to several problems. There isn’t enough space to explain why this happened. What I want to do is ensure that any member wanting access can get it.

So you may ask what you should do. In the first instance there is this message on the home page in a beige box.

Should you be unable to logon then please contact us using this this link and we will investigate. Please include your membership number with your message.

This link does work – but it is manual meaning it might take a day or two to investigate and fix.

The other option is to drop a line to the John Bennett on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and he will assist in resolving you issues.

A second problem is related to lost passwords. If you lose it and try to get it reset by using the ‘Lost Password’ option this may fail. The one reason this will fail is due to the email address that you have registered and appears on the membership list is no longer current. If this is the case then use the option described above and we will resolve this for you.

Next time you renew your membership, tell Harry Ryland your current email address and we will get this corrected. Can I please ask that you use these two routes for access problems. Don’t fire them off to the Newsletter Editor, the Chairman or anybody else. They won’t be able to help. Obviously they will pass on your query but this will almost certainly cause delays.

Thanks to all those that have used the site and the helpful suggestions that have been made. Steve Young (EMGS Publicity Manager)
