ROXEY MOULDINGS HISTORY
In 1971 Mike Rawlings and Dave Hammersley saw a demonstration which held the key to producing kits they both wanted, but nobody made. By May 1972 prototypes had appeared and Roxey Mouldings was launched. All these early kits were hot-pressed into plastic sheet, hence the 'Mouldings'.
Before long windows were pre-punched and whitemetal castings replaced the non-setting resin ones. Have you still got some lurking in a cupboard? Actually it is surprising how many of those early kits I still see running on layouts so they can't of been too bad.
In the nineteen eighties the first etched brass kits were introduced, with a gentle nudge from Fred Blackman of Mallard.
At about this time Mike took a background role and eventually left to run his own business. The range of kits steadily expanded over the years and has been added to by acquiring other ranges. First came Chatham Kits, then Loco Shop and finally part of Albion Models.

Latest News: 4mm Scale After a period off the market, new moulds have been made for 4F6 'Parry' dumb buffered private owner wagon and 4F7 'Stephenson and Clarke' dumb buffered private owner wagon. These are very useful kits for modellers of early railways. See them in the Chatham Kits section.
4mm Scale Selling well is 4L5 The GWR Rebuild of MSWJR 4-4-4T No.27. This is a long awaited re-release from the ex-Albion Models range. It has an etched chassis with a cast whitemetal body.
4mm Scale Another re-release is 4RDT11 BR Southern Region Coach Transfers. This rub-down sheet features set numbers, coach numbers and van loads. Some numbers are random while there are also pre-assembled sets as well.
