    Located on Lodge Street, a quiet cobbled area in the heart of Littleborough's central conservation area.Within 5 minutes walk of both the bus terminus and railway station (on the Manchester-Leeds via Rochdale line).  Just opposite the Parish Church.  There is free car parking at the Coach House and on adjacent streets.

    The 4th Chris Kedgley Memorial Skills Day

    The family of Chris Kedgley, the former Chairman of the EM gauge society (and active member of the Scalefour Society) who passed away in June 2013, “gifted” his models and un-built kits to the EMGS.  Chris was a highly skilled modeller who as well as building also painted and lined his models.

    With the proceeds of sale from these models now exceeding £5,000 the committee have decided to hold a fourth “Skills Day” (the first in the North of England) in his memory.

    The event will comprise of a number of demonstrators of (at least 15) covering a wide range of modelling skills, plus two award-winning layouts exhibited “sans drapes”

    Visitors will be encouraged (where practicable) to “have a go”.

    Demonstrators

    There will be at least 12 demonstrators, including the Retford crew, working at the show demonstrating various skills including plastic coaches, split chassis construction, chassis construction, DCC, architectural modelling, track construction, wagon loads, modern image modelling and ready to run conversions to EM.
    The demonstrators will be only too happy to answer questions and discuss problems.

    By Car:
    SatNav  M31 4ES The Sports Village is just past the junction of  Cross Lane West and Chapel Lane.
    On site parking is available but the playing fields may be in use especially on Saturday. If so follow the access road around past the main building and there is extra parking available at the back. Alternatively park on one of the residential streets nearby.

    By Public Transport:
    If coming from Central Manchester take the 255 Bus from Piccadilly Gardens to Partington. This also calls at Urmston Station which has a direct train service from Manchester Piccadilly. The bus service is a half hourly Saturday & Sunday.
    If you are coming via Altrincham the 247 bus is every half hour on Saturdays and every hour on Sundays.

    here will be a free (on the hour) Vintage Bus service, both days, from Urmston Station via Chapel Lane junction with Warburton Lane to the Sports Village.

    Refreshments will be available on site but with a limited menu of tea, coffee, sandwiches, etc. In Partington Village about a 1/4 mile away there is a Tesco Express which will have food and two pubs which regrettably do not serve food.

    From Preston follow the A59 to Clitheroe/Skipton.
    At the second roundabout on the dual carriageway turn left to
    Clitheroe on A671.  (1st roundabout has a McDonalds next to it)
    Follow the road into Clitheroe.  At mini-roundabout bear right.
    Follow the road with Homebase on your left.  Straight on at next
    mini-roundabout.  You will pass Tesco on your left.
    At roundabout (BP garage on your right) go straight on.
    At next junction go straight on (pass Dentist to your left).
    At next junction turn right under railway bridge.
    Follow the B6478 through Waddington.
    Carry on the B6478 onto Waddington Fell - you will cross 2 cattle

    Getting there by Public Transport
    There is a half hourly bus service from Bristol to Wells, the Mendip Xplora service 376; final destination Street.

    Travelling by train to Bristol Temple Meads, The stop for this bus is at the bottom of station Approach, on the right.
    In Wells the stop is at the HSBC bank 150 yds from the Town Hall. For your return journey go down the town to the Wells Bus station.
