Welcome to the Website of the EM Gauge Society.
We are a UK based international society created to promote and cater for railway modellers working to a scale of 4mm/ft with a track gauge of 18.2mm. We also cater for modellers working to the more demanding Protofour (P4) standards with a track gauge of 18.83mm.
The society encourages the use of fine scale standards and provides support and resources to promote this.
Within this website you will find more information about the EM Gauge Society and how to join, plus how to become involved with one of the many area groups, should you wish.
The web site also contains information about the EM track standards, plus a resource section with more general information.
Becoming a member of the Society gives you access to the EMGS on-line store, additional resources in the Members Area, a copy of the technical manual (on CD), plus access to back copies of the Newsletter.
Please see the section on joining the EMGS for more information and a full list of the benefits of becoming a member.
Each year the Society runs shows. Currently we have the major one at Bracknell, with a second in Manchester. We are always hoping to improve and aim to make them some of the best shows in the country. As well as layouts, each event comprises lectures, demonstrations and specialist trade stands. Plus we have our AGM. Whilst on a smaller scale it is a useful place to shop and see what’s happening in the Society and have your say on how we run things. The annual modelling competition takes place at the AGM.
