    A day of practical modelling demo’s from our members:-
    Starting in EM - Split chassis construction - Loco kit building  Wagon building (kit & scratch) - Coach building - Signalling
    Track & points - Trees - Model electronics (MERG)
    Radio Control - Painting & Lining (Paul Moore)
    Weathering - Buildings (card kit & scratch).
    and with a couple of layouts to look at too
    David Dunn’s Railways of the North East slide show all day

    IRECTIONS TO NEWTON IN BOWLAND – Sat Nav BB7 3DZ
    From Preston follow the A59 to Clitheroe/Skipton.
    At the second roundabout on the dual carriageway turn left to Clitheroe on A671.  (1st roundabout has a McDonalds next to it)
    Follow the road into Clitheroe.  At mini-roundabout bear right.  Follow the road with Homebase on your left.  Straight on at next mini-roundabout.  You will pass Tesco on your left.
    At roundabout (BP garage on your right) go straight on.
    At next junction go straight on (pass Dentist to your left).
    At next junction turn right under railway bridge.
    Follow the B6478 through Waddington.
    Carry on the B6478 onto Waddington Fell – you will cross 2 cattle grids    and thence to Newton in Bowland.
    Over hump backed bridge bear left by pub.  At next junction bear left and then left again.  Village Hall is on your left after 50 yards.
    Parking on the roadside past the Village Hall.

     Members - Don’t forget to bring your entries for the modelling competition.

    This event is being organised by the EM Gauge Society with the assistance of members in the Cardiff area for modellers of all abilities, as part of the EM Gauge Society Members Day and AGM. Come and learn, chat and socialise with fellow modellers.

    The AGM is for EMGS members only and will commence at 2pm sharp.

    Layouts

    Great Swilling (EM) - exhibited by David Burnett, BR(W), Gloucestershire, the layout will be operated in three time periods: 1948-1958 mainly ex Midland with some WR stock, 1959-1965 transition from steam to diesel and 1965-1972 diesel from green to blue.

    Shwt (EM) - exhibited by John Chivers, BR(W), early/mid 1960s, Tewkesbury area. A former main line now heavily rationalised and threatened with imminent closure

    Trevanna Dries (EM) – exhibited by Wayne Crowley, BR sectorisation and early privatisation, the mid 1980s to the mid-1990s, a single-track branch line and a China clay works in Cornwall.

    Plus, the EM Gauge Society Test Track (EM & P4)
